Who is Ere Perez, and a bit about your background?
I am a make up lover, Mexican born and bred and a proud Aussie for the last seven years. I am a dietician by career and a naturopath. My family in Mexico has been working in natural therapies for a long time. My grandad is a natural medicine man still. For years he has studied the healing properties of the plants. He was my inspiration to use the benefits of nature on products that are used by women on day to day basis. That is how I started designing a range of natural products that I consider them to be “more than a cosmetic…” Click here to view images of my grandparents along with further information. What led you to become a natural cosmetic designer?
For me, being healthy is not just about a healthy life style and positive attitude, it is also about nourishing our skin with beautiful natural products whenever possible.
A little about your competitors if you have any?
At the moment there are some companies that are already looking to gain the market that is looking for natural choices. But I still think there is a niche there for my range, in terms of price and quality.
Some of our competitors have good products but extremely expensive; others are affordable but their quality leaves a lot to be desired. I am not looking into being a 100% natural cosmetic company. It is about developing simple formulas with the fewer ingredients possible leading to a nice cosmetic with a low cost. What is Ere Perez Natural Cosmetics?
Ere Perez Natural Cosmetics is a company committed to design just what women want, Natural products with life and that give life. These products are manufactured with quality ingredients from different places around the world. They are presented with a good and elegant packaging to have the best at a reasonable price.When did Ere Perez start?
When I started the project in 2002, I was looking for something in the cosmetics counters that I just couldn’t find. My company was born in January 2004 and the first product “Natural Almond Oil Mascara” was available in the stores by June 2004 year. Today due to the success and feedback from my mascara lovers, we are soon to release a beautiful face tint rice powder - a silky natural powder brush and a nourishing rosehip oil lip-bar. The idea is to give to the busy girls and women the best of nature in a basic three step natural make up, for anytime and anywhere. |
Why do Ere Perez cosmetics exist?
We are an alternative to the women who wear make up everyday and that need something extra for their skin apart from colour. There are lots of great skin cares out there that are made with natural ingredients. However there aren't many natural cosmetics options. The idea is to deliver great make up results and at the same time to prevent our skin and lashes from getting dry and flaky. We have to remember that our skin is the biggest organ in our bodies ….make up and skincare is definitely food for the face , about time we have something that is more than a cosmetic extra beauty and life in to your face with a natural look.
How does Ere Perez make natural cosmetics?
First I think what is what girls want that is not there and that will suit any women from any age. I have been looking for different ingredients in different places, around the world. I have an amazing team of engineers, chemists and cosmeticians in Mexico putting everything together to produce the best product with the best ingredients. Then we search for simple, feminine, practical and good quality packaging. Tell me why you were inspired to bring a natural range into Australia?
I decided to share our love for nature with Australia because it is the place where I live and because I feel a lack of natural options in the make up market.
Tell me about your experience with the Australian market so far?
Most of the people are very friendly and supportive. Always open to new ideas.Describe life growing up in Mexico?
I feel very lucky that I grew up in Mexico as this gave me a great positive attitude towards life.Mexican people are about delivering for the others without expecting anything in return apart from a smile. The values and beliefs taught at school and more importantly at home are well learnt and never forgotten. All those values are always reflected on our day to day activities and the way we interact with people. I find out that Australians are people that appreciate these values and that open their doors to good and hard working people. That is the reason why now I call Australia home and feel fortunate to manage a business where I can keep contact with my roots and culture. |
